1. Review of public input regarding redevelopment of 21 S Linn Street.
Economic Development Coordinator Kilburg-Varley presented a PowerPoint discussing the
following:

Individual Council members asked questions and expressed their views. Kilburg-Varley
provided additional information on what is expected in the next steps. City Manager Fruin
provided additional clarification of next steps.
Action: Discussion will be continued at the 6/18/24 Work Session. Staff will start working on
proposed revisions to the 2017 TIF policy and schedule a meeting with the City Council EDC to
review later this summer.

Action: Staff will proceed with existing ARPA expenditure plans and have all funds
encumbered by year end.

community. Individual Council members expressed their views. City Manager Fruin provided
additional information and clarification.

Manager Fruin provided information on how this property became nominated to be
added to the National Register of Historic Places and gave an explanation of the
June 4, 2024

process. City Manager Fruin answered questions and provided additional
information. Individual Council members expressed their views.
Action: Staff will prepare a comment for the State Nomination Review Committee
and present to the Mayor for final review and signature on the required form. Staff
will also provide an update to Council as the nomination progresses through the
State Nomination Review Committee and National Park Service stages of
consideration.
7. University of Iowa Student Government (USG) Updates.
Matthew Monsivais, USG Liaison presented updates.
8. Council updates on assigned boards, commissions, and committees
