Received Stewardship Award from Friends of Historic Preservation. Worked at State Historical Society library where I created a finding aid for Iowa City properties mentioned in the various books on local Iowa City history detailing them. Volunteered for Friends of Historic Preservation salvages. Currently am the Historian for the Dandle Dinmont Terrier Club of America. I am an Iowa City native and I have a life-long appreciation of the historic residences and local history here. What is your present knowledge of each advisory board you are interested in? My spouse, Helen Burford, previously served on the Historic Preservation Commission Board, so I am generally familiar with the duties of commission board members. Kevin S Burford The Housing and Community Development Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the distribution of federal CBDG/HOME funds. The general rule is that no persons who exercise or have exercised any functions or responsibilities with respect to federally funded activities, or who are in a position to participate in the decision-making process or gain inside information with regard to such activities, may obtain a financial interest or benefit from a federally-assisted activity, or have a financial interest in any contract, subcontract, or agreement with respect to a federally- assisted activity, or with respect to the proceeds of the federally-assisted activity, either for themselves or those with whom they have business or immediate family ties, during their tenure or for one year thereafter.
