2. Regular Formal Agenda
2.a Proposed Property Tax Levy
1. Public Hearing
Teague: Item Number 2.a is our proposed property tax levy. This is a public hearing on the
proposed tax levy and the proposed budget ending June 30, 2025. And cities are required
to hold a public hearing on the property tax levy that is being,uh,proposed. So I'm gonna
open the public hearing and welcome Nicole.
Davies: Hello,Mayor, Council. So this is new this year. Thanks to house file 718. Uh, got rid of
the weird maximum property tax levy hearing and replaced it with this proposed property
tax levy hearing, which actually probably makes more sense because we're looking at the
entire levy. Um,however, this meeting is only to talk about the property tax levy. That's
the only thing to be discussed. It doesn't have to do with the budget, just with the levy.
Um,none of the levees can be increased at this point. They can only be decreased. And
again, I just put up here what our levy is. Um,we've talked about this a few times, but
this kind of shows that our total levy hasn't changed. But with the reduction of the library
levy and the emergency levy were rolled into the general fund and then slightly decreased
due to House File 718. And then we increased the Tort levy a little bit and then also the
debt service levy to get us back to the same,um, levy as last year. Any questions?
Teague: I wanted to acknowledge that, Councilor Dunn, are you on?
Dunn: Yes,Mayor, I am.
Teague: Awesome. Great. I don't hear any questions for you.
Bergus: Thanks,Nicole.
Teague: All right. Anyone from the public like to address this topic? Seeing no one in person or
online. I'm gonna close the public hearing.

Bergus: Move to adjourn.
Goers: Sorry?
Bergus: Sorry. Move to adjourn.
Salih: Second.
Teague: Move by Bergus, seconded by Salih. All in favor say aye. (Voice Vote)Aye. Any
opposed?Motion passes, 7-0.
