Certified Local Government (CLG) Program
Established in 1980. Iowa City joined by 1983.
Encourages historic preservation at the local level
Encourages local government use of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic
Preservation
Provides technical assistance through SHPO
(State Historic Preservation Office)
Provides funding opportunities for preservation activities
