Executive Summary:
As directed by Title 9, Chapter 1, Section 3B of the City Code, this is to advise the City
Council of the following action:
Pursuant to Section 9-1-3A (14); Install (1) on -street disabled parking space on the west side
of the 1000 block of South 7th Avenue.
Background / Analysis:
This action is being taken to provide an on -street parking space for a resident living on South
7th Avenue who has a disability.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
SHOP FOR SHELTER PROCLAMATIONS
Every October, DVIP & RVAP hosts our
annual Shop for Shelter event. We
collect nearly 9 months worth of goods
for victim -survivors in our Johnson
County shelter with the support of the
community. This year, Shop for Shelter
will be held at local Hy-Vee and
Fareway grocery stores on October

Every year, DVIP & RVAP staff attend city
council meetings and board of supervisor
meetings to declare October as Domestic
Violence Awareness Month and thank those
who support our work in the communities
we serve.
THE CLOTHESLINE
PRO]ECT
The Clothesline Project is a visual display of
violence statistics that often go ignored.
Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence
or by someone who has lost a loved one to
violence. The Clothesline Project will be
held at Merge on October 21st, from
5-8pm.
