Narrative of Offense Committed
On or about the above stated date and time, the Defendant did
being a convicted felon or adjudicated delinquent on the basis of conduct that would constitute a felony if committed by an adult, knowingly
have under his/her dominion and control or possession, receives, transports or cause to be transported,a firearm or offensive weapon, to-wit:
a .40 caliber firearm
NARRATIVE
On the above date and time, officers with the Iowa City Police Department were dispatched to 3500 Shamrock Place for a report of multiple shots fired. Officers
on scene recovered 11 fired cartridge casings and identified two residences struck by gunfire. Through various video footage, cell phone records, and witness
statements, the investigation showed that the Defendant (MARDIS) armed himself with a .40 caliber firearm and shot multiple rounds into the victim's residence
as retaliation to a previous incident. Two individuals were present inside the residence when it was struck by gunfire. During the shooting, MARDIS also struck
an unintended residence causing property damage. MARDIS has previously been convicted of a felony (Burglary 2nd Degree, FECR102188, Johnson County,
10/6/2014) prohibiting him from possessing firearms.
