I was born and raised in Keokuk Iowa where my father owns an art galley supporting regional artists and has been the director of the Keokuk Art Center for the past 25 years. Being raised in this environment has allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for the arts, which I feel is reflected in my work and my life. I have volunteered my time in the past designing for the Iowa Children's Museum, entering varies design competitions and offering design advise to basically whomever will listen. Having lived in Iowa City for the past 10 years I have grown to appreciate it's view of how important the arts are to the community and would like to participate by joining the Public Art Advisory board. What contributions do you feel you can make to this advisory board (or state reason for applying)? I feel strongly that the public needs positive exposure to the arts. Within my profession I excel at reaching a consensus among groups in order to realize a project to it's full potential. My background in art and architecture as well as my excitement about art and design, I feel, would be great contributions to this advisory board.
