Boy Scout groups in Holland with starting over, and
erea , ~ December 1945 a group of Iowa City school children
helped by sending gifts ofpins, needles, tape measures, and school
supplies to the Nei]aerlands, and
tl~I~l~relt~, a grateful sister from the Netherlands by the name of Leny
vonBeek wrote a thank-you note to one Iowa City child and starteit
a 50 year friendship between the two families, and
~i~l~l~l:l~11~, we wish to officially welcome our honored guest,~ Leny
vonBeek, this evening, by acknowledging not only the lasting
friendship of two families but the extendtear connection of the cities
of Rotterdam, Holland, the Netherlands and Iowa City, Iowa,
USA.
