HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-02-03 Public hearing NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of Iowa City, Iowa, at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd day of February, 2004, in Emma J. Harvat Hall, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa, or if said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of the City Council thereafter as posted by the City Clerk; at which hearing the Council will consider: 1. An ordinance rezoning approximately 1.26- acres of property from Central Business Support zone (CB-5) to Public/Central Business Support zone (P/CB-5) for the east half of Block 102 except the 301 S. Dubuque Street property. 2. An ordinance vacating a 184-square foot portion of the right-of-way located to the north of 425 Beldon Avenue. Copies of the proposed ordinances and resolutions are on file for public examination in the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Iowa City, Iowa. Persons wishing to make their views known for Council consideration are encouraged to appear at the above-mentioned time and place. MARIAN K. Harvat Hall, 410 E, Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa, or if said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of the City Council thereafter as posted by the City Clerk; at which hearing the Council will consider: 1. An ordinance rezoning approximately 119.94 acres from ID-RS, i'nterim Development Single-Family and ID-RM, Interim Development Multi-Family, to OPDH-5, Planned Development Overlay - Single Family Residential, sub.iect to conditions, for property located south of Pepperwood Addition and east of Gilbert Street. 2. An ordinance rezoning approximately 16.1 acres from Residential Factory Built Housing, RFBH, to Planned Development Housing Overlay-12 (OPDH-12), for property on Heinz Road south of Paddock Boulevard. 3. An ordinance rezoning approximately 25.07 acres from Highway Commercial, CH-l, to Sensitive Areas Overlay (SAO/CH-1) for property located west of Mormon Trek Boulevard and south of Highway :~. KARR, C~-I~¢ CLERK Publish 1/22 NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, ON THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF $7,305,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, TAXABLE SERIES 2004, OF SAID CITY, AND THE HEARING ON THE ISSUANCE THEREOF PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the 3rd day of February, 2004, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Emma J. Harvat Hall, City Hall Iowa City, Iowa, at which meeting the Council proposes to take additional action for the issuance of $7,305,000 General Obligation Bonds, Taxable Series 2004, of said City, in order to provide funds to pay costs of aiding in the planning, undertaking and carrying out of urban renewal projects under Chapter 403 of the Code of Iowa and all of the purposes set out in Section 403.12 of the Code of Iowa, all in connection with the Plaza Towers urban renewal project as specifically described in the agreement among the City and Plaza Towers, LLC and Marc Moen, Monica Moen and Michael Moen. At any time before the date of said meeting, a petition, asking that the question of issuing such bonds be submitted to the legal voters of said City, may be filed with the Clerk of said City, in the manner provided by Section 362.4 of the City Code of Iowa, pursuant to the provisions of Section 384.26 of the City Code of Iowa. Also, at the above meeting the Council shall receive oral or written objections from any resident or property owner of said City, to the above action. After all objections or petitions asking that said proposition be submitted to an election have been received and considered, the Council will at this meeting or at any adjournment thereof, take additional action for the issuance of said bonds or will take such other action as it may deem appropriate. This Notice is given by order of the Council of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, as provided by Section 403.12 of the Code of Iowa. Section 384.25 of the City Code of Iowa is applicable to this notice and to the above public hearing. Dated this 22nd day of January, 2004. Section 1. That pursuant to Section 384.25 of the City Code of Iowa this Council does hereby institute proceedings and take additional action for the authorization and issuance in the manner required by law of $7,305,000 General Obligation Bonds, Taxable Series 2004, for the foregoing purpose. Section 2. That this Resolution be and does hereby serve as a declaration of official intent under Treasury Regulation 1.150-2, because the City reasonably expects to reimburse with the proceeds of the Bonds, all or a portion of original expenditures incurred in connection with the above purpose.
