Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council,
Please accept my resignation from the Parks and Recreation Commission. I will no longer
reside in the city limits by the end of the month and will be ineligible to continue my
service. It has been and honor and a privilege to serve our community.
I am grateful for the hard work of the Parks and Recreation staff and the commitment of
my fellow commissioners. You as the Council and we as a community are lucky to have
their service. While the commissioners sometimes disagree on issues, there is something
that unites us: our strong desire for a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Over the course
of my time on the commission, we often felt frustrated in trying to prioritize projects with
little evidence of what the community felt was important. In the time of tight budgets it is
imperative that we plan better. A better plan is exactly the goal of the Master Plan. I hope
that you will consider funding the project.
Thank you for allowing me to serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Sincerely,
Kevin Boyd
