Emily i~ a sixth igader at Robert Lucas Elementary School. She enjoys helping people and she likes to take charge of a lot of things. She baby-sits every Monday, participates in the East Side Band and has been on the Lucas Student Council for two years. She also has been involved in 4-H. She says she is independent and "teacher-like" and ~es to be a model student. Sarah Heefner, parents Shirley and Jim Heefrmr, 22 Dunuggan Ct., Iowa City. Sarah is a sixth grader at Robert Luca~ Elementary School. She uses an assignment sheet and does her homework every day right after school without her paren~ telling her to do it. She is a kind, fair, helpful and organized person. She i~ on the Lucas School Safety Patrol and tries to set a good example by obeying all school rule~. She babysit~ reg~d~rly for three neighbor children and is responsible for their safety. She takes piano lesserin and willingly helps w/th hertoehold chores. She ~e~ to say encouraging words ~o others and in her wo~ds she says about h~rsel/, '2 always try to give 100% to all things." Stefani~ Wa~ner~ parents Susan and Mark Warner, 7~0 Willow St., Iowa City. Stefanie is a sixth grader at Robert Lucas Elementary School. Stefanie has always used a chart, an assignment shaet or a schedule to organize herself and her studies. She really likes to stick to things and work on improving, in~te. ad of quitt~g or gixdng up ff she feels she is not as good as she should be at something. 5'he like~ to see the posit/ve side of things. In school she participate~ in the Lucas Sa{e~ Patrol because she likes to help younger k/ds. She plays the oboe in the bnnd, ha~ taken dance lessons for seven years and plays the piano. During the summer she plays softball and participates in track and field events and ff her team is losing she never gives up. She says, "I always like to think that by doing your best, you'll always have a good attitude and a good attitude is important to have in any activity you're in." 01/24/90 08:47 ~319 339 5722 LUCAS BLI~¥ [~001)/003 Elizabeth (Beth) Zeitler, parents Deborah and Rodney Zeitler, 22 Warwick, Iowa City. Beth is also a sixth grader at Robert Lucas School. She tries not to just sit around and do nothing. Once she finishes mn assignment, she stuffs fight on the next one. She willtugly helps classmates with work when asked. She has served on the Lucas Student Council and is currently on the School Safety Patrol. She w~s selected to be the judge for the ~ctended Learn~g Program's mock trial. She was a Peer Assistance Team member and was asked to be a mentor for the new generation of Peer Assistance Team members. She has helped serve food for the Free Lunch Program. She plays in two orchestras and studies the piano and the cello. She bowls in a league and ~s active Jn 4- H. For the past three years she has worked on a Lucas School committee to get a bill passed to make the crinoid Iowa's state fossil. In her wo~ds she says, "I am usually a very busy person."
