HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-04-23 Award Since kindergarten I have been in a Girl Scout troop, and in the past two years we have done several service learning projects, such as helping children at the Neighborhood Center, presents for some people in a Nursing Home. and making Within my community lain involved in a drama group called Young Footlighters. I have served food at the Wesley House for Free Lunch Program. At Shimek I am involved in the Green Team, an environ- mental club run by the science teacher. I am a lieutenant on the School Safety Patrol, and volunteer at the School Store during my lunch hours. Thank you!!! I made some presents to send to the nursing home in Kalona, Iowa. At church I have served a free lunch at the Wesley House to people less fortunate then me. doing a project to help children Bootstrap. At church I am currently in Tanzania for Operation I am involved in a lot of activities at school such as Green Team, an environmental club and have been working on projects to save the birds and have bird feeding stations. I also work at the school store at my lunch time on some Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am on patrol everyday, but Tuesday. Thank you! Molly Monserud At school I'm involved in the Green Team, an environmen- tal club. We recently made a permanent bird feeding station at our school. It took much time and effort, but the Green Team raised over 700 dollars! Our Girl Scout troop has been a troop since kindergarten. We as a troop have done many things for this community. We have helped out at The Neighborhood Center, cleaned up and we also made presents for people in a Ralston Creek, nursing home. I am one of two patrol captains. Each month we make a schedule to make sure each patrol is on an equal number of times. We also keep track of who's late, who doesn't wear a uniform, etc. I often help sell products for the school store. Thank you for your time, Molly Stapleton up Ralston shelter. In the past two years, our girl scout troop has helped clean Creek, worked at a daycare and at the animal At my church, the Unitarian Universalist Society, we have helped at the free lunch and cleaned up Ralston Creek. I am a member of the Green Team at Shimek School. We raised over $700 through T-shirt sales and bake sales to build the first permanent bird feeding station at Shimek. I am a patrol and I organize the school store which is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays in case any of you are interested. Thank you for your time, Lindsey White
