RESOLUTION NO. 98-183
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY
CLERK TO ATTEST THE RELEASE OF A LIEN REGARDING TWO
RENTAL REHABILITATION LIENS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT
715 IOWA AVENUE, IOWA CITY, IOWA
WHEREAS, on June 24, 1987 and on November 2, 1997 the property owners of
715 Iowa Avenue, executed two Rental Rehabilitation Liens to secure two l O-year,
no-interest Declining Balance Loans for the total amount of $14,039.50 through the
City's Rental Rehabilitation Program; and
WHEREAS, these documents created a lien against the property; and
WHEREAS, the liens were satisfied on December 27, 1997 and May 2, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the liens need to be released.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CITY, IOWA THAT:
The Mayor is authorized to sign and the City Clerk to attest the attached
Release of Lien for recordation, whereby the City does release the property
located at 715 Iowa Avenue, Iowa City, Iowa from the Rental Rehabilitation
Lien recorded on July 1, 1987 in Book 955 Page 153 through 155 and the
Rental Rehabilitation Lien recorded on November 10, 1987 in Book 987,
Page 24 through Page 26 of the Johnson County Recorder's Office.

RELEASE OF LIEN
The City of Iowa City does hereby release the property at 715 Iowa Avenue, Iowa City,
Iowa, and legally described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 2 in Block 20 of the Original Town of Iowa
City, Iowa, according to the recorded plat thereof, thence south 151.1 2 feet, thence
east 48.33 feet, thence north 151.13 feet, thence west 48.33 feet to the place of
beginning, being the west 48.33 feet of said Lot 2 in Block 20; also a perpetual
right of way and easement over that strip of concrete drive 5 feet 2 ¥2 inches wide
lying immediately east of the north 92 feet of the above described premises; and
subject to a right of way and easement over the east 5 feet 2 ¥2 inches of the north
92 feet of the premises above described,
from an obligation of the property owners, Daniel Martin and Shelly N. Cilek, to the City of
Iowa City in the total amount of $14,039.50 represented by the Rental Rehabilitation Lien
recorded on July 1, 1987 in Book 955 Page 153 through Page 155 and the Rental
Rehabilitation Lien recorded on November 10, 1987 in Book 987 Page 24 through Page 26
of the Johnson County Recorder's Office.
These obligations have been satisfied and the property is hereby released from any liens or
clouds upon title to the above property by reason of said prior recorded documents.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-184
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY
CLERK TO ATTEST THE RELEASE OF A LIEN REGARDING A
STATEMENT OF LIFE LIEN FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 619
DEARBORN STREET, IOWA CITY, IOWA
WHEREAS, on May 14, 1987, the property owner of 619 executed a Promissory
Note in the form of a Statement of Life Lien in the amount of 89,100.00 through
the City's Housing Rehabilitation Program, and
WHEREAS, this document created a lien against the property; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the note was paid off on December 12, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the lien needs to be released.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
IOWA CITY, IOWA that the Mayor is authorized to sign and the City Clerk to attest
the attached Release of Lien for recordation, whereby the City does release the
property located at 619 Dearborn Street, Iowa City, Iowa from the Statement of
Life Lien recorded on May 28, 1987 in Book 943, Page 285 of the Johnson County
Recorder's Office.

RELEASE OF LIEN

Lot 16 in Block 10, in Rundell, Johnson County, Iowa, an addition to Iowa
City, Johnson County, Iowa,
from an obligation of the property owner, Mary Cheryl Hahn, to the City of Iowa City in the
principal amount of ~9,100.00 represented by a Promissory Note in the form of a
Statement of Life Lien recorded on May 28, 1987 in Book 943 Page 285 of the Johnson
County Recorder's Office.
This obligation has been satisfied and the property is hereby released from any liens or
clouds upon title to the above property by reason of said prior recorded documents.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-185
A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
FORM OF CONTRACT, AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF IOWA CITY DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE, PHASE 1 IMPROVEMENTS,
DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SAID HEARING, AND
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PLACE SAID PLANS ON FILE FOR
PUBLIC INSPECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, THAT:
A public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for
the construction of the above-named improvements is to be held on the 16th day of
June, 1998, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, Iowa City, Iowa.
The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of the public hearing
for the above-named improvements in a newspaper published at least once weekly and
having a general circulation in the City, not less than four (4) nor more than twenty (20)
days before said hearing.
A copy of the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost of the
construction of the above-named improvements is hereby ordered placed on file by the
City Engineer in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection.
