Dear Members of the Council:
Please accept my resignation from the Iowa City Committee on Community
Needs. In light of the recent opinion by the City's Attorney's Office
regarding conflict of interest for Committee members during a competitive
funding process, I am unable to take part in the CDBG funding
recommendation process. This is due to ~ny position as Administrator of
the Greater Iowa City Housing Fellowship, an applicant for CDBG funds.
Please know that I believe the legal opinion is a reasonable one. I also
believe that I have conducted myself in a manner which has not conveyed
any impropriety in regards to my professional or Committee positions.
However, over the last year or so, I have not been entirely comfortable
with how my Committee membership may appear in the community. I had
conversed with the City Planning Staff and a few of you about my
intentions to resign after the allocation recommendation process of this
year.
I have very much enjoyed working on CCN, and firmly believe that the
process is a valuable one.

SIDERING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE FOL-
LOWING BOARD:
ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD
One vacancy - Three-year term
April 5, 1995-April 5, 1998
The duties of the Animal Control Advisory
Board are to provide such recommendations and
advice as are required by the 28E Agreement
between the City of Iowa City and the City of
Coralville, or as may be requested by the City
Council or City Manager of Iowa City or by the
City Council or City Administrator of Coralville.
The person selected for this appointment must
be an eligible elector of the City of Iowa City.
This appointment will be made at the February
28, 1995, meeting of the of the City Council at
7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The City of
Iowa City encourages diversity in the appointment
of citizens to boards and commissions. Persons
interested in being considered for this position
should contact the City Clerk at the Civic Center,
410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City. Application
