HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-07-27 Public hearingNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Thursday, July 27, 1995, at 7:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa. Paragraph 403A.28, State Code of Iowa, requires this Public Hearing prior to undertaking these low-cost housing projects. The Iowa City Housing Authority proposed to apply for eighteen (18) dwelling units pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1937 as amended for replacements for demolition/disposition subject to Section 18. This Act authorizes the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide financial and technical assistance to public housing agencies for the development and operation of low-income housing. HUD has published a Notification of Funding Availability for the State of Iowa. Possible locations and estimated costs will be discussed at said hearing. I further state that the Municipal Housing Agency of Iowa City, Iowa, has the legal authority to undertake and carry out the programs and astivities described and in the manner set forth in its application for the Iowa City Housing Authority, I am of a further opinion that there is no pending or threatened litigation which would adversely affect the legal propriety or undertaking of the housing project and program contemplated within the application of the housing agency.
