War II, and
~ag, the end of hostilities spared the hves of many who were
fighting and those destined to assist in the Pacific Theater of
Operations, and
~'~re~, the lives of all citizens were deeply affected by the events of
World War II, and \
~R~g, we wi~h to join the residents of Iowa City in 6fficially
commemorating the end of World War II by expressing
appreciation for ~e service of all citizens during World War II and
'fervently hoping for peace to reign thxoughout the world,

Iowa, dn hereby proclaim the month of August, 1995, to be
of ecognition of
gpecif~L[p, do hereby proclaim August 3, 1995, to be-a day to
commemorate the end of World War II with a concert by the
312th A~y Band at West High School Auditoriron at 7:30 p.m.
