I have greatly enjoyed this group and feel xve have established a good, solid base from which to operate. Because of Iowa Code restrictions regarding potential conflict of interests, I must resign immediately for business reasons. I anticipate applying for future commission/committee positions when conflict restrictions would not affect my participation. NOTICE THE CITY COUNCIL OF IOWA CITY IS CONSIDERING APPOINTMENT TO THE FOLLOWING COMMISSION: RIVERFRONT & NATURAL AREAS COMMISSION One Vacancy - Unexpired Term September 14, 1999 - December 31, 2000 It is the duty of members of the Riverfront and Natural Areas Commission to investigate, study, review and analyze the needs and the meeting of needs for all natural waterways, woodlands, and wetlands within Iowa City, and including any legally designated fringe area around the limits of the City, and shall investigate and determine what rules and regulations are needed and what policy should be established relating to such natural areas, and shall study, investigate and make recommendations relating to the preservation or restoration of such natural areas and to the creation of trails and other recreational or aesthetic features within such areas. The Riverfront and Natural Areas Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Iowa City appointed members of boards and commissions must be eligible electors of the City of Iowa City. This appointment will be made at the September 14, 1999, meeting of the City Council at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The City of Iowa City encourages diversity in the appointment of citizens to Boards and Commissions. Persons interested in being considered should contact the City Clerk at the Civic Center, 410 E.
