Notice is hereby given that the City Council of
Iowa City will hold a public hearing on the 6th day
of September, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the Emma
Harvat Hall of the City Hall of the City of Iowa City,
410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa, or if
said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of
the City Council thereafter as posted by the City
Clerk; at which hearing the Council will consider a
resolution authorizing conveyance of a 5,941
square foot parcel of property to adjacent property
owners John H. Roffman and Joellen S. Roffman.
Copies of the proposed resolution are on file for
public examination in the office of the City Clerk,
City Hall, Iowa City, Iowa. Persons wishing to
make their views known for Council consideration
are encouraged to appear at the above-
mentioned time and place.

City Hall, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, IA or if
said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of the City
Council thereafter as posted by the City Clerk; at which
hearing the Council receive comments on plans and
specifications for the construction of a two family
dwelling under the Affordable Dream Home
Opportunities Program located in Longfellow Manor
Subdivision. A copy of the plans and specifications are
on file for public examination in the office of the City
Clerk, City Hall, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, IA.
Persons wishing to make their views known concerning
this matter, preferably in writing, will be given the
opportunity to be heard at the above-mentioned time and
place.

About the Duplex Homes
The Iowa City Housing Authority (ICHA) will be constructing two attractive, affordable, and
accessible three-bedroom homes designed for people of all ages, sizes, and abilities. The
ICHA's homes will use Universal Design construction techniques which will ensure a barrier-free
home that can meet a wide range of individual and family needs and into the future. It will be
offered for sale through the ICHA Affordable Dream Home Ownership Program to income-
eligible Johnson County families. These homes will provide an opportunity for the community to
learn about Universal Design, while demonstrating that accessibility is for all and need not
increase cost of housing.
