Officers with five (5) or more years of seniority shall be h marks on their uniform sleeves, with one hash mark 6 entitled to ash representing five (5) years of service. 9 10 ARTICLE VIII 11 DAILY AND WEEKLY HOURS OF WORK 12 13 Section 1. Work Week 16 ,,._ e 17 commencing on a day agreed upon by the officer and his/her 18 supervisor. The work week may be changed to meet changing 19 departmental needs, with the agreement of the affected employee. 20 21 b. The work week for all other officers shall commence on a date to b e 22 arranged between the Union and the City and thereafter shall corrlinue 23 on the following schedule: 24 25 (1) Six (6) consecutive eight (8) hour days followed by two (2) 26 consecutive days off for four (4) consecutive padode; and 27 thereafter 28 (2) Six (6) consecutive eight (8) hour days followed by three (3) 29 consecutive days off; and thereafter 30 (3) Five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days followed by three (3) 31 consecutive days off; and thereafter 32 (4) A repetition of the above schedule, 33 (5) The daily schedule outlined above may be amended by 34 increasing the number of hours per day and/or reducing the 35 number of work days per week upon agreement of the union 36 and the police chief. 37 38 c Days off shall be defined as beginning with the end of the last 39 regulad scheduled working day and endin9 a~ the start of the next 40 u~a~y schedded,,working day as set forth n the schedule in Section 41 ubsootion b. _,,) 42 · 43 For example: 44 (1) For an officer assigned to the 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. watch, days off shall 45 commence at 3:00 p,m. on the last regularly scheduled worldng day 46 and end at 7:00 a,m. on the next regularly scheduled working day. 47 48 (2) For the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. watch, days off commence at 11 p.m. 49 on the last regularly scheduled working day and end at 3 p.m. on the 50 next scheduled working day. Funerals. An officer will be granted up to three (3) days per ,// 12 occurrence with no loss of compensation nor loss of accruai from sick, nqnuai, nor 13 compensatory time to attend the funera( of his/her spouse,~l~mestic partner as 14 · recognized by City policy~hildren, mother, father, grandparents, stepparents, 15 SIster, or Drother. 16 17 An officer will be granted one (1) day per occurrence with no loss of 18 compensation nor loss of accrual from sick, annual, or compensatory time to attend 19 the funeral of his/her mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents-in-law, aunt or uncle, 20 brother-in-law, sister-in-law, permanent member of the immediate household, or for 21 a military funeral in which such officer participates in the ceremony. Fifty-four months from date of appointment. 45 Section 3, Longevity Pay. Officers who are assigned to and 36 performing K-9 duty on a regular basis shall be paid for one half hour per 37 day as kennel time at the applicable overtime rate. 38 39 Officers designated as Field Training Officers (FTO) when assigned ~0 to and actively performing the duties of FTO, shall receive, in addition to 41 any other compensation to which they are entitled, supplemental pay in 42 the amount of five dollars ($5.00) per watch, 4-3 45 ARTICLE XXX 46 GENERAL CONDITIONS 47 48 Section 1. Waiver,. This Agreement supersedes and cancels all previous 11 agreements between the City and the Union and constitutes the entire agreement 12 between the parties. 13 1,t Section 5.
