Rights Act of 1964 was adopted banning discrimination because of a
person's color, race, national origin, religion, or sex; and
:~[~l~rl~lllt, by Act of Congress of the United States dated December 6, 1865, the
13m Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was adopted
abolishing slave~; and
~r~a~ by Act of Congress of the United States dated July 9, 1868, the 14~
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was adopted giving all
persons born or naturalized in the United States the right to due process and
equal protection under the law; and
· ~r~, by resolution of the National League of Cities, we declare racism unjust and advocate equal rights for all;

experience sexual abuse in their lifetime and violence against women and
children continues to escalate; and

~ictim/survivor, or as a family member, friend, partner, co-worker or
neighbor concerned for someone who has experienced abuse; and

community prevention of sexual abuse and support for agencies providing
sexual abuse services;
