RESOLUTION NO. 01-104
RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
FORM OF CONTRACT, AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE LONGFELLOW/TWAIN PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL PROJECT NO. STP-E-
37'15(616)--8V-52), DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SAID
HEARING, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PLACE SAID PLANS
ON FILE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY. IOWA:
1. That a public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost
for the construction of the above-mentioned project is to be held on the Ist day of May,
2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, Iowa City, Iowa. or if said
meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of the City Council thereafter as posted by the
City Clerk.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of the public hearing
for the above-named project in a newspaper published at least once weekly and having a
general circulation in the City, not less than four (4) nor more than twenty (20) days before
said hearing.
3. That the copy of the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for the
construction of the above-named project is hereby ordered placed on file by the City
Engineer in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection.

re: Longfellow / Twain Pedestrian Tunnel Project
A special City Council meeting has been set for 5:00 pro, Thursday, April 26, 2001, to
consider a resolution setting a public hearing and approving the plans and specifications
on May 1, 2001 for the Longfellow / Twain Pedestrian Tunnel Project.
This project is partially funded by the Federal Transportation Enhancement Program
and will be bid through the Iowa Department of Transportation on May 15, 2001.
Through an oversight on my part, there will not be enough time to meet the local
requirements of the bidding process without this special meeting.
At the regularly scheduled May 1 meeting, City Council will hold a public hearing and
consider a resolution approving plans and specifications. The IDOT will have a bid
letting on May 15 and City Council may award the project at that meeting. I apologize
for this error.
