June 04, 2001 10:50 AM To: council@iowa-city.org Subject: re: Iowa City Public Library Trustee Nominations Good morning: It has been brought to my attention that David VanDusseldorp has submitted his name to be considered for a position on the ICPL Board of Trustees. This is his second attempt to try and secure a position on the board. Last time he was up against 2 incumbants during a time when it was important to have continuity of past members who wished to remain on the board. This year there are 3 members leaving the ICPL Board of Trustees - Mark Martin, Winston Barclay and Mary McMurray. I would like to recommend that you appoint David to the ICPL Board of Trustees. David has been an very active supporter of the ICPL over the years. I served with him on the Friends Committee and he also has served on the ICPL Foundation. David brings a working knowledge of the ICPL and would be an asset to the Board of Trustees now with 3 longstanding members leaving the board in July. If you would care to discuss this matter, I would be happy to speak to any of you in securing a seat for David on the ICPL Board of Trustees. Thank you for your consideration, Linda Dellsperger 351-5869 LKBD@home.com NOTICE THE CITY COUNCIL OF IOWA CITY IS CONSIDERING APPOINTMENT TO THE FOLLOWING COMMISSION: PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION One Vacancy - Unexpired Term Ending May 1,2002 The duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission members include making (or causing to be made) surveys, studies, maps, plans, or charts of the whole or any portion of the municipality and any land outside which--in the opinion of the Commission--bears relation to a comprehensive plan; also include recommending to the City Council from time-to-time amendments, supplements, changes, and modifications to the Zoning Ordinance.
