EXPERIENCE AND/OR ACTIVITIES WHICH YOU FEEL QUALIFY YOU FOR THIS POSITION:
As I prepare to be a social worker, the education I am gaining in the masters of social work program will be the biggest asset
that I will bring to this board. I will be able to share knowledge of skills and programs that positively impact housing and
community development as I continue in the program.
My experience as a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters familiarized me with the Pheasant Ridge low income housing and the
needs of the Sudanese community in Iowa City. Additionally, my experience living in a low income neighborhood for three
years in Rochester, New York also gave me insight into the overall needs and concems of individuals living in these areas.
I have read the Iowa City Housing and Homeless Needs Assessment.
