To Whom It May Concern:
! have reviewed the Plans for the Proposed residence called the "Concord" to be built in iowa
City, Iowa. The plans as reviewed, will need the following additions to comply with the building
enclosure requirements of the ! 992 Model Ener~ Code. This review is for the building enclosure
requirements only.
[. Use 2" of styrofoam to a minimum 48" below grade on frost wall foundation walls,
except exterior garage foundations.
2. Note that the windows and doors shall have a minimum R-value of :~. 125.
3. Exterior box sill insulation shall consist of a minimum R-13 Fiberglass.
4. Furr out and insulate 4' concrete kneewalls in lowest level to a minimum R- 1 :R
5. Insulate garage ceiling with a minimum R-value of P,2.2 fiberglass.
Eight feet Basement wails shall be furred out with 2 X 4's and insulated to a minimum
R-11.
