2. Enclosed understairs storage requires protection on the storage side as per one-hour fire-resistive
construction.
3. Minimum headroom height of 6'-8" must be maintained for all ductwork and beams. A maximum of
1/3 of each room may be soffetted. Minimum 7'-6" headroom must be maintained in at least 2/3 of
each room.

3. A foundation inspection of structural steel reinforcement is needed prior to placing foundation
concrete.
4. Smoke detectors are needed in all bedrooms, hallways leading to bedrooms as well as on each floor
level.
5. The one-hour garage/house occupancy separation may be of materials as per one-hour fire-resistive
construcion on the garage side only. The house to garage door must be a self-closing, tightfitting 1
3/8" solid-wood or a 20 minute fire-protection rated assembly.
6. Glazing within 24" of a door's edge when in the closed position must be safety glazing.
7. Porch and deck have been deleted from the house. Future deck or porch will require a separate
building permit. Revise floor plans.
8. The dwelling shall not be occupied until a final certificate of occupancy has been issued. A final
certificate of occupancy will not be issued until all inspection violations have been resolved.
9. A sidewalk release will not be issued until the public sidewalk has been installed as per the
subdivider's agreement for the subdivision.
10. Foundations supporting wood must extend a minimum of 6" above the adjacent finished grade.

Joints, penetrations, and all other such openings in the building envelope that are sources of air
leakage must be sealed.
Recessed lights must be type IC rated and installed with no penetrations or installed inside an appropriate
air-tight assembly with a 0.5" clearance from combustible materials and 3" clearance from insulation.
Vapor Retarder.
Required on the warm-m-winter side of all non-vented framed ceilings, walls, and floors.
Materials Identifioation:
Materials and equipment must be identified so that compliance can be determined.
Manufacturer manuals for an installed heating and cooling equipment and service water heating
equipment must be provided.
Insulation R-values, glazing U-values, and heating equipment efficiency must be clearly marked on
the building plans or specifications.
Duct Insulation:
Du~ in unconditioned spaces must be insulated to R-5.
Ducts outsid~ the building must be insulated to R-6.5.
Duct Construction:
All ducts must be sealed with mastic and fibrous backing tape. Pressure-sensitive tape may be used
for fibrous ducts. Duct tape is not pennitted.
The I-IVAC system must provide a means for bancing air and water systems.
Temperature Controls:
Thermostats are required for each separate HVAC system. A manual or automatic means to
partially restrict or shut off the heating and/or cooling input to each zone or floor shall be provided.
Circulating Hot Water Systems:
Insulate circulating hot water pipes to the levels in Table 1.
Swimming Pools:
All heated swimming pools must have an on/offheater switch and require a cover unless over 20%
of the heating energy is from non-depletable sources. Pool pumps require a time clock.
Heating and Cooling lC'iludr~ Insulation:
