ITEM NO. 7 CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY OF IOWA CITY 2012
LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES.
1 Comment: The 2012 Iowa legislative session begins January 9. In preparation for this
years session, Council and staff will meet with the area's state elected officials to
discuss the issues the City has identified as priorities to be addressed by the State.
Presented here are the City's 2012 legislative priorities for review and approval by
Council in advance of the January 6 area legislative meeting. Staff will collaborate with
the City's lobbyist and area legislators to develop strategies to address these issues
during the upcoming legislative session.

ITEM NO. 8 CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY OF IOWA CITY STRATEGIC
PLANNING PRIORITIES.
Comment: After conducting a thorough strategic planning process, the City Council
has indicated the top strategic planning priorities for the City. This resolution formally
-approves and adopts the strategic planning priorities and directs staff to pursue those
priorities.
