May & June Use Of Force Review
The bi-monthly "Use of Force Review Committee met on July 16, 2002. It was composed
of the followirlg personnel;
Captain Widmer
Sgt. Brotherton
Sgt. Hurd
The review of the submitted reports for May (16 incidents-24 reports) and June (18
incidents-26 reports) revealed no policy or training concerns. Two of the incidents were
the destruction of injured animals.
As a way of clarification, whenever the situation is deemed appropriate to draw weapons
when doing a building entry on a search warrant, one officer should file the use of force
report explaining the justification and officers involved. As we have allowed the SRT-to
do, only one report is necessary.
