It has been my pleasure to serve on the board for the past five years. However, I feel I have no choice but to step down, as I have taken a position as the Director of Fiends of Historic Preservation. The new position, which includes advocacy for the preservation of Iowa City's older homes and neighborhoods, could be perceived as a conflict of interest. I wish to thank you for appointing me twice to the HPC. It has been pleasure to serve and I feel that I was able to participate in way utilized my talents to help the great city in which we live. The Cool Cities Program is a voluntary program by which local governments work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions created by municipal facilities and vehicle fleets. The duties of the MPO Community Climate Action Taskforce are to advise on the development of action plans for participating communities so that each entity can work proactively to obtain a Cool Cities designation. The Iowa City appointed representative must be a resident of Iowa City, Iowa. The Community Climate Action Taskforce will meet no more than once per month, after appointments are made.
