VP for Research for the Arts and Humanities and Director of the Obermann Center for Advanced idies (frequently working in collaboration with ICPL), directed state -wide humanities projects funded by major lNEH grants, served on the Iowa Humanities Board, was an elected board member of two national arts /humanities associations, and served on many NEH grant review panels, including Challenge Grants and Public Programs. WHAT IS YOUR PRESENT KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ADVISORY BOARD? I have some knowledge of Board activities and plans: in addition to reading the Board's strategic plans and agenda /minutes posted on -line, I have learned much about the Board through conversations with ICPL staff and two current Board members. WHAT CONTRIBUTIONS CAN YOU MAKE TO THIS ADVISORY BOARD (REASON FOR APPLYING)? Since our arrival in 1978, my family's favorite place has been the ICPL. I think I could contribute esp. to conversations about collections /digital resources, corporate and non - profit partnerships, fund - raising and grants, user facilities.
