The Housing and Community Development Commission (HCDC) will hold two public meetings in November to discuss and finalize a funding recommendation that will be submitted to City Council. First Meeting: Wednesday, November 10, at 6:30 PM in Emma Harvat Hall, City Hall., 410 E. Washington St. HCDC will meet to discuss the applications and to ask applicants questions about their proposed projects. Staff requests that at least one representative from your organization attend this meeting. Applicants will not be asked to give a presentation and will not accept additional correspondence from applicants unless it is requested by HCDC. The commission may not have questions for every applicant; however staff requests that each applicant send a representative as we do not know what questions HCDC will have. Second Meeting: Thursday, November 18, at 6:30 PM in the Senior Center, Assembly Room (Dining Center), 28 S. Linn Street. You may enter through either the Washington Street door or the Linn Street door. At this meeting, HCDC will discuss the applications and formulate a funding recommendation. This recommendation will be submitted to the City Council for their review and approval. Applicants are encouraged to attend this meeting, but it is not required. A 30-day public hearing will commence shortly after the November 18 HCDC meeting for the FY11 Annual Action Plan Amendment, containing HCDC's funding recommendations. The City Council will review the Amendment at their first regular City Council meeting in January 2011 (to be determined). The Council may approve HCDC's recommendations or make revisions. Staff anticipates that the projects approved by City Council may start their projects May 2011 dependent upon the completion of an env.ironmental review and an agreement entered with the City for the funds. If you have any questions about the allocation process or if you require special accommodations please contact Tracy Hightshoe or Steve Long at 356.5230 or at tracy-hightshoe@iowa-city.org or at steve-Iong@iowa-city.org. Free parking is available at the Chauncey Swan parking ramp across the street from City Hall for both meetings.
