Now Therefore, I, Matthew J. Hayek, Mayor of the City of Iowa City, do hereby proclaim November 11, 2012, to be Veterans Remembrance Day in Iowa City and commemorate the end of World War I with the signing of the Armistice on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918; and ask that the community remember the sacrifices and contributions our service men and women have made to the cause of peace and freedom throughout our history.
