JOINT MEETING WITH AREA LEGISLATORS
The following handouts were distributed:
• 2013 Legislative Priorities folder
• Khan academy Overview of the State of Illinois Pension System
Mayor Hayek welcomed area legislators and thanked them for their efforts for the community
and region. City Manager Markus introduced City lobbyists Tom Stanberry and Kate Carlucci
from David Brown Law; and reviewed information contained in the Legislative folder:
Priority # 1 - Support of the Chicago to Council Bluffs /Omaha Passenger Rail Project
Priority # 2 — Responsible Tax Reform
Priority # 3 — Increased Funding for Road & Bridge Needs
Priority # 4 — Fair & Sustainable Pension Systems
Asst. to the City Manager Fruin present for discussion.
