Hayek; Brock Grenis (brock.grenis @gmail.com) Subject: Letter of resignation from Board of Adjustment 2 May 2013 Dear Sarah Walz, Mayor Hayek, and Brock Grenis, I am writing to officially tender my resignation from my position on the Iowa City Board of Adjustment. The May 2013 meeting will be the last meeting I am planning on attending. My resignation is offered with mixed thoughts and emotions. It would be my preference to continue serving on the Board, but it is clear that not being available for one or two meetings per year creates problems which impede the Board's ability to be of fullest service to the citizens of Iowa City. It has been a distinct privilege to serve as a member of the Board of Adjustment. It has been especially gratifying to work with other members of the Iowa City community to discuss, offer guidance, and rule on matters of clear interest to all. Fulfilling the position of Board Member would not be possible without the substantive work, diligence, and exceptional dedication of the City of Iowa City Planning and Legal Staff & Administration. We are incredibly fortunate to have important and necessary positions filled by exemplary public servants. The Board of Adjustment members, past and present, with whom I have served also deserve notice for the important work they do and the great focus and diversity of positions they articulate on behalf of our community. I am grateful to the members of the Iowa City Council who appointed me to this position for the opportunities it has provided me to learn and cooperate with others toward fostering a safer, more sustainable community for all of its residents and visitors. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or points of order required beyond this letter. Again, my thanks and my most sincere appreciation, Will Will Jennings 311 Fairchild Street Iowa City, Iowa 52245 319 - 337 -7770 Home 319 - 321 -2995 Mobile cc: Matthew J.
