ITEM NO. 3 UNIVERSITY SUSTAINABI ITY PARTNERSHIP — RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH
/ _ $� THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA TO PARTICIPATE IN THE IOWA
INITIATIVES FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PROGRAM.
Comment: The City has been selected to participate in the University of
Iowa's Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities program. The program
is a "campus -wide effort at the University of Iowa to enhance the capacity
of Iowa's communities to address the economic, environmental, and
social - cultural issues they face today and build a more sustainable future"
The resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute the program
agreement.

construction of a new freestanding Ani al Care and Adoption cility at 3910
Napoleon Lane, in Iowa City, Iowa. T ilding will be wood fram and mason
construction. The work includes site ork, general building c nstruction,
mechanical, electrical, communic Ion, along with security and special systems
and a ground source heat pum system. The roject will be funded fro FEMA,
State, GO Bonds, other governments and contri ution.
