to include a section on affordable housing. The amendment would state: "As plans for the
area move forward, the City shall consider development incentives (such as density
bonuses) and policies that require affordable housing for City- assisted projects within the
district."
I move to amend the proposed amendment by adding the following language: "For all
projects in the District that contain 10 or more residential units and receive Tax
Increment Financing support from the city, a minimum of 10 percent of the units must
be affordable to households at or below 80 percent of Iowa City's Median Household
Income."
Item 5c• Second consideration of the Riverfront Crossings District's Form -Based Code.
I move to amend the ordinance by making three modifications. If adopted, staff would
have to make detailed changes in the text of the code also to propose three
amendments.
First, for any projects that might receive a density bonus for affordable or
workforce housing, the affordability of the units must be maintained for a
minimum of 15 years.
Second, the maximum post -bonus building height in the Park District and on the
west side of the river shall not exceed 10 stories.
Third, one bonus floor shall be permitted for each floor of Class A space.
