RESOLUTION NO. 14 -208
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AMENDMENTS
TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND SUMMER OF THE ARTS,
INC. TO CHANGE THE STREET INCLUDING THE LOCATION WHERE
ALCOHOL MAY BE SOLD DURING JAZZ FEST.
WHEREAS, the City and Summer of the Arts, Inc. ( "SOTA ") have entered into an agreement
that allows SOTA to sell beer and native wines in a demarcated area on a City street during
Arts Fest, Jazz Fest, and Iowa Soul Festival in 2014;
WHEREAS, as the result of unanticipated developments, such as the recent rainfall that has
saturated the Pentacrest resulting in a desire to change the location of the area, the agreement
may need to be amended; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City of Iowa City's interest to authorize the City Manager to amend the
agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IOWA
CITY, IOWA, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to amend the agreement with SOTA, including the location
where alcohol may be sold.
