ITEM 2. MOSS RIDGE ROAD - RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT AND
dw AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST A
CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE MOSS RIDGE ROAD PROJECT.
ITEM 3.
Comment: Bids for this project were opened on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, and the
following bids were received:
❖ Streb Construction Co. Inc. Iowa City, IA $ 3,440,330.92
❖ Metro Pavers, Inc. Iowa City, IA $ 3,531,650.02
Engineer's Estimate $ 4,210,000.00
Public Works and Engineering recommend award of the contract to Streb
Construction Co. Inc. of Iowa City, Iowa. The project will be funded with General
Obligation bond proceeds, tax increment financing, and RISE Grant funds. This item
was removed from the Consent Calendar and deferred indefinitely on July 15.
Action:
ASPHALT RESURFACING PROJECT 2014- RESOLUTION AWARDING
CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK
TO ATTEST A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE ASPHALT
RESURFACING PROJECT 2014.
Comment: Bids for this project will be opened on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:30
p.m. Staff will review the bids and a recommendation for award will be presented to
Council at the Council meeting on Wednesday, July 30th. The estimated cost of the
project is $792,000 and will be funded with Road Use Tax Proceeds, Parks and
Recreation Annual Operations, Wastewater Operations, and GO Bonds.
