CONSIDER THE PROPOSED
CONVEYANCE OF A PORTION OF
VACATED ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY
BETWEEN LOTS 5 AND 6,
CARTWRIGHT'S ADDITION, BLOCK 1
TO KUM & GO, L.C. AND SETTING A
PUBLIC HEARING ON SAID
PROPOSAL FOR JANUARY 19, 2016.
TO ALL TAXPAYERS OF THE CITY OF IOWA
CITY, IOWA, AND TO OTHER INTERESTED
PERSONS:
Public notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will conduct a public
hearing on its intention to convey a portion of the
vacated alley between Lots 5 and 6, Cartwrights
Addition, Iowa City, Iowa, to Kum & Go, L.C. at
7:00 p.m. on the 19th day of January, 2016, said
meeting to be held in the Emma J. Harvat Hall in
the City Hall, 410 E. Washington Street in said
city, or if said meeting is cancelled, at the next
meeting of the City Council thereafter as posted
by the City Clerk.
Said resolution is now on file in the office of the
City Clerk in the City Hall in Iowa City, Iowa, and
may be inspected by any interested persons.
Any interested persons may appear at said
meeting of the City Council for the purpose of
making objections to and comments concerning
said plans, specifications, contract or the cost of
making said improvement.
This notice is given by order of the City Council
of the City of Iowa City, Iowa and as provided by
law.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF1 A PORTION OF VACATED
ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY BETWEEN LOTS 5 AND 7, BLOCK 1, CARTWRIGHT'S
ADDITION, TO*UM & GO, L.C.
WHEREAS, the applicant, um & Go, L.C., ownsLot 5 and 6, Block 1, Cartwright's Addition,
which surround the recently vacated alley right -of -w y located at the northwest corner of the
intersection of Riverside Drive hpd Benton Street; an
WHEREAS, Kum & Go intends to onstruct aconv nience store and gas station on this corner in
adherence to the design and build in standards o the Riverfront Crossings form -based code and
in promotion of the goals of the Riverfnt Crossi gs Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, City Council is currently
WHEREAS, Kum & Go requested that
vacated, if the vacation is approved, upon
the vacation of this right-of-way; and
convey to it the right-of-way proposed to be
gent of fair market value for said rights; and
WHEREAS, on January 5, 2016, the C' Coun ' adopted a Resolution declaring its intent to
convey its interest in the parcel,
at
rizing the blication of public notice of the proposed
conveyance, and setting the date and f e for public hearing; and
WHEREAS, following public hearingjbn the proposed co"Vleyance, the City Council finds that the
conveyance of the subject property In the public interest. \
NOW, THEREFORE, /THALLEY
EBY RESOLVED BY THE ITY COUNCIL OF IOWA CITY,
IOWA, that:
1. The Mayor ank are hereby authorized and dire ted to execute a Quit Claim
Deed conveyin's interest in the vacated right -of- y legally described as the
EAST HALF OLEY ADJACENT TO LOT 5 IN BLO 1 OF CARTWRIGHT'S
ADDITION TO Y, IOWA, ACCORDING TO THE PLA THEREOF RECORDED
IN DEED BOX 432, RECORDS OF JOHNSON COUN , IOWA; EXCEPTING
THEREFROM RTIONS CONVEYED FOR HIGHWAY Ill,BOOK 1050, PAGE
407, AND BOOAGE 414, in consideration for payment of feir market value for
said rights.
2. The deed shall be recorded by the City Attorney's Office in th hnW ComV
Recorder's Office at Kum & Go's expense.

Public notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will conduct a public

and estimated cost for the construction of the
2016 Washington Street Streetscape Project —
Clinton Street to Linn Street in said city at 7:00
p.m. on the 19th day of January, 2016, said
