City Manager Markus reviewed the timeline for approval of the budget, and the process for amending. After discussion the following items were identified: • Reducing carbon emissions, consider $100,000 in budget • Increase number of minority law enforcement officers • Accelerating non -profits by developing non-profit match (endowment) • Agreement on staff recommendation on overall budget / tax levy (10 cent reduction) rate • Complete Strategic Plan and integrate STAR rating system • Facilities in compliance • Improve infrastructure (walkability and bike ability) Staff will prepare recommendations on each item for the next Council budget discussion.
