COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF COUNCIL ACTIVITIES
FEBRUARY 21, 2017
Iowa City City Council special meeting, 5:15 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Throgmorton
presiding. Council Members present: Botchway (5:21 p.m.), Cole, Dickens, Mims,
Taylor, Thomas, Throgmorton. Absent: None. Staff members present: Dilkes, Voparil,
Andrew, Seydell-Johnson, Yapp, Laverman.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Taylor, seconded by Mims, to adjourn to executive session to evaluate the
professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or
discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable
injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session.(City
Clerk). The Mayor declared the motion carried, 6/1, Botchway absent and adjourned
into executive session 5:15 p.m.
Council returned to open session 5:34 p.m.
Moved by Botchway, seconded by Mims, to adjourn special meeti 5:35 p.m.
