Because of its support, Iowa City attained a Sliver -level Bicycle Friendly Community designation, the highest ranking achieved by any city in Iowa. However, Iowa City also recognizes that many residents face a variety of challenges preventing them from bicycling as much as they would like to To help address these challenges, Iowa City is creating a ong-range bicycle master plan to make bicycling safer, easier, and more accessible for people of all ages and abilities. I dont believe that any 1.75% 10 significant further action on bicycle facilities is necessary. 59.86% 1 am a committed bicyclist who rides in mixed traffic on most streets, but believes that new 343 facilities like bike lanes, bike routes, and trails are needed to improve Iowa City's biking environmert for me and encourage other people to ride more often. 31.76% 1 am Interested In bicycling and use low -traffic streets, but am concerned about the safety of 182 riding in mixed automobile traffic. More trails and bike lanes and routes would increase the number of trips that I make by bicycle. I am a recreational or occasional bicyclist and ride primarily on trails. I would like to see more 4,81% 23 trails, but am unlikely to ride on city streets even with bike lanes. I do not ride a bicycle now, but might be interested if Iowa City developed facilities that met my 1.75% 10 needs better or made me feel safer. It's a blank slate that we can use for bike traffic. • I would like a protected bike lane on Burlington between Muscatine and Riverside Dr. • Riding to the store. Protected/dedicated bike lanes on 1 st Ave are needed. • Connect Court Hill Trail to downtown and extend branch of Iowa River Trail toward downtown. • Please allow bike access through Hickory Hill to avoid hills on First Ave and Rochester.
