Home My WebLink About2017-09-19 ProclamationCity of Iowa City PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Table to Table began in April 1996 and since then has distributed 17 million pounds of food, 14 million meals in Johnson County; and WHEREAS, Table to Table collects from over 33 donation sights and delivers to 26 agency sites in Iowa City at no fee for the services; and WHEREAS, In Iowa City alone, Table to Table rescues a total of 1,300,000 pounds of food which provides 1,083,000 meals from those pounds in a year, helping to divert 650 tons from the landfill; and WHEREAS, Table to Table makes a monetary impact to recipient agencies of $4.23 million and a total monetary impact to the community (agencies and those they serve) of $8.46 million; and WHEREAS, there are only 4 paid staff members and over 240 dedicated volunteers that deliver to 40 food routes every week to continue the work of Table to Table. NOW, THEREFORE, I, James A.
