IOWA CITY AIRPORT COMMISSI
MONDAY, MAY 6, 1991
IOWA CITY TRANSIT FACILITY
MEMBERS PRESENT: Pat Foster, John Ockenfels, Richard Blum
MEMBERS ABSENT: Robert Hicks, Antonia Hamilton
STAFF PRESENT: Ron O'Neil
GUEST PRESENT: Carl Byers
CALL TO ORDER:
Chairperson Blum called the meeting to order at 12:27 p.m. A
quorum of the Commission was present.
ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION:
a. FAA MASTER SITE LEASE- O'Neil explained that because the site
for the Automated Surface observing System (ASOS) was relocated,
the master lease would need to be revised. Ockenfels moved to
approve the site change in the FAA master lease. Foster seconded
the motion and it was passed 3-0.
b. FAA MASTER LEASE- The FAA will install Precision Approach Path
Indicator (PAPI) lights on Runway 06 similar to the installation
planned for Runway 24. Foster moved to amend the FAA master lease
to allow for the installation of PAPI lights on Runway 06.
Ockenfels seconded the motion and it was passed 3-0.
c. SET PUBLIC HEARING- Foster moved for a resolution to set a
public hearing on the plans, specifications and form of contract
for the current AIP grant project, #3-19-0047-02. Carl Byers,
representing Howard R. Green Company , presented the Commission
with the plans and specifications as approved by the FAA. A copy
will be on file at the City Clerk's office, at the Airport
Manager's office and Blum will have a copy. The date for opening of
the bids was also set. Ockenfels seconded the motion and it was
passed 3-0, with Hamilton and Hicks being absent.

Foster moved to adjourn the meeting.
