Complete Description of Council Activities
December 19, 2017
Iowa City City Council special meeting, 5:00 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Throgmorton
presiding. Council Members present: Botchway (5:28 p.m.), Cole, Dickens, Mims,
Taylor, Thomas, Throgmorton. Absent: None. Staff members present: Fruin, Monroe,
Dilkes, Fruehling, Goers, W. Ford.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Dickens, seconded by Thomas, to adjourn to executive session to discuss
the purchase or sale of particular real estate only where premature disclosure could be
reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for
that property or reduce the price the governmental body would receive for that property.
The minutes and the tape recording of a session closed under this paragraph (Land
Acquisition) shall be available for public examination when the transaction discussed is
completed. The Mayor declared the motion carried and adjourned into executive
session 5:01 p.m.
Council returned to open session 5:35 p.m.
Moved by Mims, seconded by Dickens, to adjourn special meeting :37 p.m.
