Complete Description of Council Activities
April 17, 2018
Iowa City City Council special meeting, 4:00 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor
Throgmorton presiding. Council members present: Botchway, Cole, Mims, Salih,
Taylor, Thomas, Throgmorton. Absent: None. Staff members present: Fruin, Monroe,
Andrew, Dilkes, Fruehling, Bristow
Unless otherwise noted all actions were affirmative and unanimous.
A public hearing was held deciding the appeal to the City Council of the decision
of the Historic Preservation Commission denying a Certificate of Appropriateness to
apply aluminum siding at 318 N. Gilbert Street in the Northside Historic District. The
following individuals appeared: Ginalie Swaim, Historic Preservation Commission; Bill
Leupold; Jared Leupold; Julia Leupold; Nicholas Acri, The Acri Company.
Moved by Botchway, seconded by Cole, to affirm the decision of the Historic
Preservation Commission denying a Certificate of Appropriateness to apply aluminum
siding at 318 N. Gilbert Street in the Northside Historic District.
Moved by Salih, seconded by Botchway, to adjourn special meeting 5:17 p.m.
