NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROJECT MANUAL AND ESTIMATED
COST FOR THE ASPHALT RESURFACING 2020 PROJECT IN THE CITY OF
IOWA CITY, IOWA
TO ALL TAXPAYERS OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, AND TO OTHER
INTERESTED PERSONS:
Public notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Iowa City,
Iowa, will conduct a public hearing on the Project Manual, including the plans,
specifications, contract, and estimated cost for the construction of the Asphalt
Resurfacing 2020 Project in said city at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th day of July, 2020, said
meeting to be held in the Emma J. Harvat Hall in the City Hall, 410 East
Washington Street in said city, or if said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting
of the City Council thereafter as posted by the City Clerk.
This project includes pavement milling and asphalt resurfacing along North
Gilbert Street, Bloomington Street, South Dodge Street, Muscatine Avenue,
Hollywood Boulevard, and the Benton and Miller Intersection and street sealcoat
work along Camp Cardinal Road and Taft Avenue. In addition to the resurfacing,
this project includes stone sewer intake repairs, curb and gutter repairs, and
replacement of curb ramps to meet current ADA standards. This project also
includes new pavement markings on South Dodge Street from Burlington Street to
Kirkwood Avenue and Muscatine Avenue from Iowa Avenue to 2n0 Ave.
Said Project Manual and estimated cost are now on file in the office of the
City Clerk in City Hall which is closed to the public because of coronavirus. These
documents may be inspected by any interested persons by contacting the City
Clerk at 319-356-5043 or emailing kellie-fruehlina(aDiowa-citv.org.
Any interested persons may appear at said meeting of the City Council for
the purpose of making objections to and comments concerning said Project
Manual or the cost of making said improvement. If City Hall remains closed to the
public, the meeting will be an electronic meeting using the Zoom Meefings
Platform. For information on how to participate in the electronic meeting, see

Project Coordination — Dodge Street Bike Lanes
• City Staff held a public open
2019 to discuss the addition

the upcoming resurfacing and new pavement markings
Project Coordination — Muscatine Avenue Bike Lanes
• City Staff with the Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) on June 25,
2020 to discuss bicycle facilities on Muscatine Avenue
• The Iowa City Bicycle Master Plan recommends the addition of
bike lanes with new striping and markings only
