PROCLAMATION
Whereas, decorating for the winter holidays spreads good cheer during our coldest ano oarxest
months; and
Whereas, when neighbors come together in support of a shared cause, the community at large
benefits from said actions; and
Whereas, Rita Lyn Ct has been recognized as a holiday decorating destination and commonly
referred to as "Sugar Plum Lane" or the "Christmas lights street"; and
Whereas, current and former residents of Rita Lyn Ct have been proponents of good Holiday
cheer for the better part of the street's thirty-year existence; and
Whereas, Rita Lyn Ct neighbors will continue this year and many years into the future to
spread good cheer and support for the Iowa City community; and
Now, Therefore, I, Bruce Teague, Mayor of Iowa City, do hereby proclaim that the
community of Rita Lyn Ct shall be recognized as
Ambassadors of Wintry Cheer
for the City of Iowa City in 2020.
In the remaining days of 2020 and into 2021, I encourage all members of our community to
spread good cheer, to support your neighbors and the community at -large, and to find moments
of joy in our great city. But, please, wear a mask and social distance while doing so.
