Banned Items Oil can be recycled at the East Side Recycling Center (2401 Scott Blvd. SE) or the Iowa City Landfill (3900 Hebl Ave. SW). Leave in the Oil Recycling Shed in a sealed container. Yard Waste (leaves, grass, branches, garden waste) can be composted via curbside collection or dropped off at the Iowa City Landfill's Compost Facility (3900 Hebl Ave. SW). Tires can be recycled at the Iowa City Landfill (3900 Hebl Ave. SW). Lead-acid Batteries can be recycled at the Iowa City Landfill's Hazardous Material Collection Facility (3900 Hebl Ave. SW), open Thurs, Fri, & Sat from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appliances (such as refrigerators, lawn mowers, & microwaves) can be recycled at the Iowa City Landfill (3900 Hebl Ave. SW). TV & Computer Monitors can be recycled via electronics recycling at the East Side Recycling Center (2401 Scott Blvd. SE) or the Iowa City Landfill (3900 Hebl Ave. SW).South Riverside Recycling Center (1200 S.
