Narrative of Offense Committed
On or about the above stated date and time, the Defendant did
sexually abuse ___ and during the commission thereof, use or threaten to use force, creating a substantial risk of death or serious injury to
any person
NARRATIVE
At approximately 0144 on 10/07/2023 in the Alley and parking lane of 505 E College ST, the defendant forcibly had sexual intercourse with victim as she walked
home. As the victim passed by the Pre-Game Lounge and Hookah Bar at 220 S Van Buren ST, the suspect approached her and , asked her to join him inside.
When she refused, he began to pull her toward the Hookah-Bar. She tried to scream for help, at which time the Defendant told her to "shut the fuck up" and
began strangling her with both hands until she was struggling to breathe. The suspect then pulled down the victims pants and sexually assaulted her. Thevictim
suffered bruising to her neck, a cut to her knuckles, and cuts and bruising on her legs during the assault. Video surveillance in the area at that time showed a
subject wearing clothing and fitting the physical description of the suspect.
The victim's underwear worn during the assault was sent to the DCI Lab for DNA testing. The testing revealed a male profile developed from seminal fluid which
matched the DNA profile of the Defendant. The defendant was interviewed where he confirmed he was at or very near the scene at the time of the assault and
had no explanation for why his DNA would be found on the victim or her clothes.
