We would like your thoughts on the "front end" of the process given our
2007-2008 search. For example, does it make sense to use the existing
community profile? Start from scratch? Other considerations?
What do you believe are the most beneficial qualities of a great city
manager? The most detrimental?
In addition to meetings with department heads and the public, the
council is interested in getting input on the finalists from our
commission chairs and former mayors. What are your thoughts about this
approach?
How do factors specific to Iowa City (Midwestern community, presence of
large public university, etc.) inform your search?
